Project type: Bridge Repainting and Lead Abatement
Owner: British Columbia Ministry of Transportation
Location: Vancouver, BC
Completed: June 2006
Project value: $20,800,000 CAD
The Lions Gate Bridge, a British Columbia landmark, with its three delicate spans links the City of Vancouver with the suburbs of the North Shore. Situated over Stanley Park on the south end the bridge gracefully spans the environmentally sensitive Burrard Inlet northward to a First Nations Tribal reservation. This project required a coatings contractor with the experience and expertise to perform lead abatement and painting work in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner while respecting the cultural history of the land.
Coupled with a compact 18-month schedule and the infamous Northwest weather, this was a challenging and exciting international project.
